In the pursuit of happiness, the Chinese has devised a way to decipher the luck of a person. Whether he or she can be lucky for marriage, career, wealth or health depends on the configuration of the heavenly stems and earthly branches.

If you are not born in the right season, you are deemed to be weak. But that is only a simplistic way to assess the strength of a Ba Zi birth chart. The quality of a Ba Zi birth chart does not rest on its strength per se but the interaction of the stems and branches within it. Ultimately, the quality of a Ba Zi birth chart and hence, a person’s life hinges on the clarity and harmony of one’s Day master in relation to the stems and branches.
